Don't know about you all, but I hate the precisions to bars. They're just scarying me and most of the time I can't gather my courage to break that fear.
I wanted to know if anyone has ever experienced that for this kind of jump and, most of all, how he did overcome his fear!
Thank you very much!
Peace.
I'd ask him, but ain't got his number

Yep!
Congratulations for your progress!
Honestly, you're having me a bit upset, but it is a 'good' mood to push me to improve, so thank you!
I've received the same answer from my own body, too. Quoting: 'Мать твою, да не дрейфь ты, а прыгай уже!! :@'
In english it says 'damn you punk, do it already!!'
Well, I'll listen to you 2
Thanks Adrian, I'll let you know if I die
Peace.

No, well, it's not as if I couldn't do a rail precision at all But as a matter a fact, when they become like 9 footsteps wide I have mental problems with them. But training will help
Sad thing is, Paris is rainy nowadays...

ok, here's some update.
I've been focusing on this precision training for about a month now, and it seems that i'm getting better at it! Feels good!
Still, some things I've figured out.
The main thing I was (and still am) afraid of was to slip off the rail and to have my back slamming on to the rail. That cannot happen if you don't push too hard on your jump. By holding back a bit I am able to land much more precisely on the rail, so I don't have to compensate the excessive speed by friction of my shoes on the obstacle. Thus I avoid slipping.
But holding back too much can lead to 'under jump' so you have to be ready to fall backwards; you need to improve your reflexes in getting a hold on the obstacle while falling backwards. You know, like when you need to get down from a wall, you launch your legs and find yourself in the catleap position...
Once you've gotten used to it, the fear of falling on your back should back down lol.
That's it for now, big us in your training y'all!

Well, you know what? Training works!!
Quite a simple thought, actually...
I've gained confidence. I can now "launch" a rail-precision more easily; even if it is not perfect the first time I do it, once it's "unlocked" I can work on it more easily. I've unlocked several jumps that used to scare the hell outta me... So I'm glad, actually!
However, it is still not as natural as a mere wall-precision, but it's getting better.
You know, I've been increasing my maximum jump-distance lately, so I built up some additional strengh into my legs, and I think it helped a lot for the rail precisions. The power I feel my legs have now helps me to be more confident about the jumps. Feels good.
What about you? How is your progress?

ALopez
Have you created any of your own vids by any chance?
Nope.
Because I ain't got time to thing about something original and interesting to film...
because I've got no camera...
because I just don't have the will to do it ^^
About the precisions, I'm 10.5 feet now, and height doesn't really matter... Well, of course if it's a 50 meters down fall, I'll think twice before trying a 11 feet gap, but otherwise, it's okay, really.
Still, rail precisions got only to 8-9 feet...
Congratulations for your balancing progression, because I know I don't have enough patience to walk that far on a hence. Maybe on quadrupedia, but not standing.

About knees hurting... remember my post about the Feiyue shoes? Actually, they are pretty nice training, coz they force you to walk on your toes if you don't wanna feel hit from below every time your feet touches ground. And that conditions your legs pretty well...
Moreover, if you try some precisions in it, you really have to smooth your landings, or you will get hurt...
Seems that I got a bit used to those shoes, so my precision have improved.
Have a try, using any shoe with no large sole.

Nah, I don't think I'll purchase them, I find them too expensive for what they are.. A friend of mine used to train in the old Kalenji and is using the KO's now. Well he told me that despite having the same great sole, the KO are much less comfortable to wear..
And it seems I've found another nice shoe, I'll write a review when I get them.
About the niche..
Well I think that precisions and wallups are my best shots. And i'm working on my catleaps to bring them to a higher level too.

It was great reading both your progresses. How do you do now? Here everything is wet and i didn't ever try rail precisions yet. Building up jump distance on ground mainly.
Well, went to Grenoble this week end, to train with some good friends and see some spots I began to forget
On saturday we got rainy weather, so had to be really careful.. And those bastards made me do some precisions on WET RAILS!! I'll remember that
The gap was about 8 or 9 feet, and thankfully the rails were only 10 cm from ground. Anyway, after some hard stress on my nerves I started to get the hand of it, and eventually even succeeded to stabilize one or two landings properly. Right, it was one or two out of 20 or 30, but I still can't believe I did it.
*proud of myself*
