Sup.I need some help.

I usually train in public places where people rarely come and i mean RARELY come to sit down but there are quiet a number of people passing bye the place. But as i train people who are passing by keep starring at me as if im doing something ''bad'',i get it that not everyone knows what parkour is really about.

But can someone out there please tell me how do i overcome this fear of being ''Stared at while training''Thanks

-Mael

Heh
Don't you worry, you are not alone facing it.

Basically, try to smile! I'm serious, if you come to meet someone's eyes, answer with a honest and simple smile. It often helps, because people react by thinking "Oh, he's a nice person after all!"
And they may come closer and ask you about what you're doing etc. So you stop, take your time and explain them peacefully, without agression, the point of your training.
But first thing - give a smile

Works for me.
Peace.

Yep, definitely!
It's surprising, also, that most of the people that were interested and basically not set 'against' me were all OLD people!
Seriously, they usually are kind to us tracers, at least here in Paris... And assuming they're not crazy, which sometimes happens

Would there be any chance that they would take a picture of you and put it on the internet saying ''Noob'' or ''Wannabe kid trying to do parkour'' ? Cause people in my country, they sometimes like to do that.

Is there any suggestion for me to avoid that?:-)
Thanks again.I dint thought the parkour community would be THIS HELPFUL TO THE TRACEURS THAT NEED HELPS
:-D

Hey, just don't bother with this kind of crap
Do you really care about the way others see you?...

Just remember that you're practicing parkour for YOU, not for them.

And if such a thing happened to happen, well... no big deal, you'll just have to train harder in order to prove to yourself that you're no beginner
Moreover, if you ARE a beginner, it's no big deal either; coz we all were (and stay, actually) "noobs".

Just let it be and train for yourself.
Peace.

(sorry for my english, i'm french )

Begin to train with friends! When you practice with other people you don't have the same pressure on your shoulders. After a while, you will be enough confident with your practice of Parkour and you will not care about other people watching or not watching you!

Im 13 so no matter what i do, everyone will think im a noob, wannabe, reckless, stupid and stuff, as everyone treats 13 year olds. It bothered me a lot. Sometimes i stop when people (mostly when theyre my age) come around. Now i almost got to the point, where i really don't care. People laugh at me now, but what they do not realise, that every beginning has an end. Im a beginner, and if i keep on going, ill just become better.

and i really dont care
