Retour-bras/from cat to cat

i dont... i use it when grip is too bad to allow me to do a pullup and use 2nd and 3rd or when i dont need to get much height or distance...

Retour-bras/from cat to cat

everyone i know calls it cat to cat or 180...

i usually do the 3rd but i dont see much difference between the 2nd and the 3rd... or the 1st.. they are all cat to cats to me.. i use each technique according to the situation..

Flips are not Parkour. Final proof.

lol

this "simple jumps" seems highly inpractical...

more practical than a flip though..

What is Parkour?

no, this is a video

Ultimate Parkour Challenge

i think the only ones who took the competition seriously was the bad hosts.. the guys didnt seem to take it too seriously and just saw it as a chance to play with the boat.
over commercialism by MTV did kill it though :\

My rant...

sounds like you got pissed off by those who dont agree with you...
live with it.

1.000.000

squats: 15 (warmup sets not included )
Total: 27.543/1.000.000

Trainers...

the only right thing this trainer said is get off the treadmill... treadmills are a waste of time...

as for the bulgarian splits dont use a weighted vest , use a barbell.

if you want to knwo more about strength training i highly recmmomend buying (or ripping of the interwebs like poor people like me do) the book Starting Strength (2nd edition) by Mark Rippetoe, the book talks about a regime following the same name which is the best regime i know to get strong but even fi you dont want to do it there is a lot of information about training strength training and nutrition on the book in addition to supremely good anlysiss of various lifts and lots of myth-busting.

god damn it !

1:49... fems get owned by men... again

Yamakasi are crap

informative post, agreed i was a bit ignorant and arrogant. i still dont like their training methods but i can see the sense behind them.

p.s. try to remember me by my super cool sig in 3run, it'll help

Yamakasi are crap

read only the "awsome" in my name, problem solved

when i said properly i meant without being to prone to injury. i agree with your point on that but i just wanted to clear this up.

i know many people that train in several sports from soccer and basketball to martial arts and to bodybuilding and olympic lifting, they never train to failure. actually training to failure for a sports athlete is quite uselses since they never reach a point they physically cant go on anymore. (you dont see sprinters crash after the finish line not being able to take another stride right?) training to failure is good of your in the military. (just to keep you informed)

my point is that if you want to get fast effortless climb ups you should go rest and recover when you cant do what your training for. (though from what you say, they train for something else completley)

a) if your too exhausted to train properly, why training. training when fatigued is only a recipe for injuries.

mmm I can't say U're wrong... But still, if you stop the training when you are just starting to feel tired, you will never know your limits, you will never know what you are capable of when tired... And that is not correct, to me.

Training when tired is really important, because it takes much more concentration (focus) to do the simple things with no mistakes. Moreover, it makes you truly feel your body, I mean you HEAR your heart, you FEEL your muscles (you know, when they start to shake and you can't controll them? )...

Actually, training IS "getting tired", and still go on! And as you progress, it should take you more and more to get you tired...
But if you stop every time you feel tired, you will never improve, I think.

Come to the forearms climbups, I find it normal to use this "technique" when you just CAN'T climb faster anymore! It is natural, ain't it?

So, I don't really see the point of the argument. If they wanted to make such a vid, why not? It is true that after watching a vid of some unknown tracer making such climbups I usually leave a comment such as "work out your climbups" or "pull-up, push-up and keep-up!". But here it is inappropriate, as the level of these guys is well-known.

I guess.

Peace

there is a huge difference between "just starting to get tired" and "exhausted".
and im not telling anyone not to make a video. i jsut say i dont like it, and explain why.

Yamakasi are crap

a) if your too exhausted to train properly, why training. training when fatigued is only a recipe for injuries.
b) it is a valid technique. i just think its stupid to train it when you can spend time on training more efficient techniques.

your lovley paragraph) i dont have any competitive attitude. your points on their infinite-dimensional training do have a logic point, i do wonder if they know anything about it, or you just tried to find some logic behind their training.

Yamakasi are crap

thread title is out of context and has no relation to the actual argument in the 3run forum

but you probably just did it to catch people's eye.

Parkour Museum

great idea! subbed

Indoor Training

i love the outside and training outside, yet i've never tried indoor training so i guess i cant really choose

What else do you do?

i write and play music and reading about strength training and conditioning.

Conditioning games.

the get-under-the-fucking-barbell-and-squat! game

name speaks for itself

Your favourite music?

too many bands and artists for me to count... bands i like to hear a lot are opeth, system of a down, nightwish and red hot chili peppers. but there are so many more i could call 'my favorite'
