This, is a conceptual work I thought about for quite a long timeThe challenge was to find 99 different ways to go trough one same place, in 9,9 hours. And, overall, this, is a tribute to Raymond Queneau, the person from whom the idea came.Raymond Queneau was a french writer, that mostly worked on creativity in writing, and wrote, for an example that book, « Exercices de style », where he told the same one short story in 99 different ways/styles.I began to think, some time ago, that it could be interesting to transpose it in parkours context, and « jump » the same one place in 99 different ways, with the obligation of going across it each time, whatever the direction is.But I thought it could be fun to add one constraint ; why not try to do the whole thing (find the crossings, work on them a bit, then do them and film them ourselves(so that takes time too, thats why we didnt spend too much time on finding good angles to film, or take a lot of angles) in 9,9 hours. That way, we kept the « 99 » concept thing and kept the number, and just put a comma between it.And that added quite a big constraint on time (a little bit less than 6 minutes to find, work on, do, and film ONE crossing), that made the thing much harder, so much more interesting too !SO thats what we(my friend Quentin (alias Le Vietnamien Volant) and I) did some days agoWe just went to the nearest spot (30 seconds from my house), took a piece of paper and a pen to write, and a camera to film, and went into it.Unfortunately, it was fuckinhot, with no air to breathe, and we had quite a lot of supernumerary obstacles (a lot of little (but incapacitating) injuries, shoes problems (Quentin killed all the shoes we had on that nasty walls), people coming and talking to us for hours (and time passing), camera low battery (many times), etc.), so we took a little more than the 9,9 hours we should have taken.Anyway
It was fuckin great to do and work on, and coming to a certain point, wrossings were even harder to find than to do, thats what makes me think it was principally a work on creativity and imagination, rather than a parkour technical or strenght training.
Youll notice that a lot of combinations share movements or even parts (same beginning, same ending, same technique, but different way, or exact same way, but changing technique, etc.), but we just couldnt find 99 entirely different ways to cross that small little place...Maybe next time ? ;-)

PS : these walls are going to be entirely destroyed very soon (by the Maire), so that was a way (well, our way) too to pay tribute to that place where we spent so much time training beforeGoodbye blue walls !
